About Us

Welcome to the North Oxfordshire Riding Club (NORC) web site. NORC is affiliated to the British Horse Society forming part of area 5 and has been established since 1980 with currently over 100 annual members. The club offers a varied program throughout the year, including training clinics in flat work, cross country, show jumping and dressage by a variety of qualified instructors.

The clinics have no more than 4 horses in each session, and we cater for all levels of ability at novice, intermediate and advanced.

Clinics are proving to be an enormous success this year with forthcoming dates and bookings provided in the monthly news letter or via the web site.

The benefits NORC offers to their members include discounted entry fees to their Hunter Trials, Cross Country events and Annual Show, together with subsidised training clinics.

Training and equine education continue over the winter months, including talks and demonstrations on a range of different topics. In the past we have had talks on veterinary and general care by Alan Walker, nutrition by Robert Fowler, equine dentistry by David Regan and talks about their careers and lives with horses by Jon Trice-Rolph, well known Point-to-Point trainer and jockey; and Robert Bell, international show jumper.

In addition to the above we are always looking for members, who wish to compete against other riding clubs in the area. If your are interested in joining our team, please contact Barbara Connor.

Finally, news letters are sent out to all members to inform them of forthcoming events. These details are also available on our web site where news letters and schedules can also be downloaded. If you have any adverts, news, pictures, interesting topics or experiences for publication please contact Louise Harper.

Welcome once again.
